About the program
Avaya International Sales Limited, a major telecoms research and development center based in Mervue Business Park, Galway, has a history in supporting individuals back into employment and takes a proactive approach to building a sustainable workforce. Since the programmes inception in 2013, Avaya has provided placements focused on providing hands-on training to job seekers looking to enhance their opportunities in the labour market. 80% of jobseekers that have completed their internship with Avaya have successfully secured paid employment many of those securing permanent roles at Avaya
On the back of 5 very successful jobseeker support programs, Avaya in conjunction with ITAG (Information Technology Association Galway) Skillnet, are launching a 2018 ‘Employment Activation Program’ (formerly JSSP), to begin in October 2018. This program aimed solely at training unemployed people (on live register for 6 months or more), will provide skills which are in demand by ICT industry. Training will be provided on the Avaya Campus in Galway and will take job seekers through an intensive and fast tracked software engineering development and test curriculum. The program is targeted at job seekers with limited IT background who have a proactive positive attitude, are capable of working independently or as part of a cross functional team, possess good written and verbal communication skills. General knowledge and understanding of Information Technology Infrastrcutures would be an advantage. Opportunities will exist in the following areas:-

· Software Quality Assurance
