ITAG facilitates an Employment Activation Programme (EAP), which has a clear focus on areas where skills deficits have been highlighted by member companies
Avaya in conjunction with ITAG (Information Technology Association Galway) Skillnet are launching our latest ‘Employment Activation Programme’ to begin in October 2019. This program aimed solely at training unemployed people (on live register), will be provided skills which are in demand by ICT industry. Training will be provided on the Avaya Campus in Galway and will take job seekers through an intensive and fast tracked software engineering development and test curriculum, followed by work experience (duration: 19 weeks). The programme is targeted at Job Seekers with limited IT background who have a proactive attitude, are capable of working individually or as part of a cross functional team, possess good written and verbal communication skills. General knowledge and understanding of Information Technology Infrastructure would be an advantage.
Opportunities will exist in the following areas: S Avaya International Sales Limited, a major telecoms research and development center based in Mervue Business Park, Galway, has a history in supporting individuals back into employment and takes a proactive approach to building a sustainable workforce. Since the programmes inception in 2013, Avaya has provided placements focused on providing hands-on training to job seekers looking to enhance their opportunities in the labour market. 80% of jobseekers that have completed their internship with Avaya have successfully secured paid employment many of those securing permanent roles at Avaya.
