WHO IS THIS PROGRAM FOR?
Any Senior Leader or Individual Contributor who wishes to develop the core skills of Transforming Conflict into Collaboration and who wish to develop expertise in holding effective and impactful Courageous Conversations.
PROGRAM BACKGROUND
Conflict and the need to hold courageous conversations are a normal part of the human experience. The possibility of conflict arising is present in every situation where people interact. Each of us respond in a unique way to conflict. Some of us respond in an aggressive way which can often result in the conflict escalating – others respond in a passive way in an attempt to avoid the conflict. This program will support you to move beyond taking unhelpful positions in conflict and towards a collaborative outcome where all parties volunteer their best contribution in service of key business objectives.
This program will also provide participants with a practical and proven process for having Respectfully Challenging Courageous Conversations.
This program has been delivered globally since 2009 and to-date more than 2500 senior leaders have developed the core skills being offered on this program.

WORKSHOP STRUCTURE
9:30 am to 11: 15 am : Transforming Conflict Situations into Collaborative Solutions – The Mindset, Process and Skillset Required. .
As pre-work for this workshop, we invite all participants to complete a Conflict Styles self-assessment, and this will support them to increase their awareness on their current strengths and derailers when it comes to transforming conflict into collaboration.
In this opening segment of the workshop, we look at the mindset of people who are skilled at transforming conflict into collaboration and the mindset of people who are skilled at holding effective courageous conversations. Based on our experience of working in this area of conflict and courageous conversations, we believe that getting the mindset right is the key to developing both leadership skillsets.
11:15 am to 11:30 am : Coffee Break
11:30 am to 1:15 pm : Developing the Core Skills of Conflict Resolution and Courageous Conversations
Based on our experience of working with more than 2500 leaders across 30 locations globally, we believe that there are two core skills that every high-performance leader need to possess to deal with conflict and courageous conversations in an effective and impactful manner and they are (1) “Empathetic Listening to Value Difference” and (2) Respectful Challenge. It is by combining both of these leadership competencies that leaders can navigate their way towards a successful outcome to a courageous conversation and also to navigating their way beyond conflict situations to collaborative solutions.
In this workshop, opportunities will be provided to develop both of these leadership competencies.
1:15 pm to 2:00 pm : Lunch
2:00 pm to 4:00 pm : Skills Practice and Development
When it comes to holding effective Courageous Conversations and navigating our way towards effective outcomes in conflict situations, it all comes down to practice, practice, practice. It is for this reason that we dedicate this final segment of this workshop to skills practice and development. Participants will have the opportunity to prepare, plan and hold a courageous conversation on a topic / situation that is very real for them.
4:00 pm to 4:30 pm : Call To Action and Workshop Close
